Hot rolled seamless tubes

Hot rolled seamless tubes

Hot rolled seamless tubes for mechanical use find their application in general mechanics and machine building. Some specific uses such as pressure vessels and structural are excluded. Production cycles affect pipes’ mechanical properties and their surface:

  1. Rolled Tubes for Mechanical Applications which are divided into hot-rolled Seamless Tubes for Mechanical Applications and Welded Tubes for Mechanical Applications which start off as coils. In electro welded tubes the strip is formed into a tube and excess in weld bead removed. In Welded Pipes the dimensional tolerances are narrower than in non-welded pipes (± 0.5 mm external diameter, ± 10% on the thickness). which start off as a flat strip of metal.
  2.  Welded Drawn Tubes for Mechanical Uses and Seamless Drawn Tubes for Oil Hydraulic Circuits and Generic Use. In order to guarantee their flexibility (bent/deformed), Welded Drawn Pipes are delivered in various conditions of heat treatment such as +AR “as rolled”, +SR stretched, +N normalized pipe. Seamless pipes are always supplied in the normalized state ideal for the following deformations.

The dimensional tolerances of Welded Pipes are ± 0.05/0.10 mm on the external diameter and ± 0.05/0.15 mm on the internal one, while for Seamless Pipes they are ± 0.5 mm external diameter and ± 10% on the thickness.
